Buried in Style / Fondation Manuel Rivera-Ortiz in Arles

Regula Tschumi’s solo exhibition Buried in Style at the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation in Arles is since 4.7. open.

The exhibition presents Ghana’s figurative coffins as artistic expressions of memory, status, and identity. Tschumi's photographs and a selection of drawings by the late coffin artist Ataa Oko, as well as Tschumi's film, offer insight into a vibrant funeral culture in which art, rituals, and community are closely intertwined.

The exhibition is part of the MRO's larger summer show COME TOGETHER which is associated with Les Rencontres d’Arles 2026. Buried in Style was curated by Alejandro León Cannock in partnership with Kehrer Verlag and runs throughout the Arles photo festival, from 4 July to 4 October 2026.
