Fishing Villages

Ocean fishing plays an important role in the entire coastal region of Ghana. There are so many colorful fishing harbors and vibrant fish markets for me to discover. I love to spend my time in the various fishing villages to observe the fishermen when they leave or return with their small canoes. I am always fascinated with photographing the fisherwoman when they buy the fresh fish in the early morning and when they later sell it at the local markets. Although a lot of the fishermen’s work is daily routine, I always come across many new situations when I go to these villages, depending on the weekdays, the time of day, or the season of the year when I pay my visit.
