The Fancy Dress Festival
The colorful Fancy Dress Festival takes place every year between Christmas and the New Year in several towns and villages in the Central Region. On this occasion, different mask groups dance to the music of their brass band and compete with their performances. Their gorgeous costumes and face masks are newly made every year by special local tailors and artists. I spent times the Christmas and New Year days in the Central Region, following and photographing the same mask group. I spent time with days before, during, and after the festival.
