Around the Lake Volta

Lake Volta is an important route for trade and transport. Many of the villages around the lake are difficult to access by bus due to poor road conditions or the complete lack of roads. For market traders, travelling by canoe is often much quicker to reach the various villages and their weekly markets.
I am always interested in visiting the various markets around the lake. I love observing the traders when they arrive in their canoes in the morning and unload their goods. Sometimes they come from far away to attend a market where they mostly buy or sell yam, fish or charcoal.
